About Louisiana College

Louisiana College, or LC for short, is a private institution of higher education located in Pineville, which is a city in the US state of Louisiana, in Rapides Parish, with nearly 14 000 people, living within its limits, according to the 2000 census.

The college was established in October, 1906, its principal founder being considered Baptist clergyman and educator Edwin O. Ware, Sr., who was both the college's financial agent (1906-1907), and its first president (1908-1909). It currently offers its students, who number approximately 1000, over 70 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, including Bachelor of Arts, Music, Science, Social Work and General Studies.

Athletics

LC's athletic teams are known as the Wildcats and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are orange and blue.
